“Holon” derives from the same root as the word holistic, and also the suffix -on indicating a particle, or a piece. A hol-on is something that is simultaneously a whole, and a part of a greater whole. We consider our authors, our talent, and our brand to be holons in a symbiotic relationship.

Holon is a professional self-publishing services agency. This means we provide professional paid services but do not take any rights or royalties for your work. Let’s explain where this fits into the publishing landscape...
With traditional publishing, the publisher assumes the initial financial risk but you give up your rights to your work and may still need to pay for your own marketing. Other than a small signing bonus, you only make a profit if your publisher does.
With hybrid publishing, the initial investment and the royalties are shared between the publisher and the author. There are a few stellar hybrid publishers out there, but there are also vanity presses that charge premium prices for inferior products that won’t sell.
With self publishing, the author retains all the rights and royalties to their work and is responsible for coordinating everything from editing, book design and layout, printing and distribution, and marketing and promotion.
With Holon, you own your book and its profits. We manage all aspects of getting your idea to print, building your author brand, and marketing your book. What you pay us is an investment towards your book’s success.

Projects can range from 3 to 9+ months depending on the scope of work being accomplished. Whether you already have your manuscript, how many rounds of revision your book needs, and what scope of marketing services you want are all relevant factors. As excited as we are for the day when you hold your published book for the first time, we’d rather do things right than rush them.
